Was I lost? The answer is No. But what I was experiencing was that I lost my goal, my direction, and with that my drive. Luckily I knew the questions to ask myself and how to get myslef back on track. I remembered the diagram to the right that I developed almost 15 years ago and I turned it into Personal leadership Coaching. What is Personal Leadership? Well, somone smarter that I onec said: Before you can lead others (that includes team or family) - you must be able to lead yourself! That's what EMPOWR Personal Leadership Coaching is about: A reminder that you are the one who creates your life! A reminder that you can create the change you wnat to see or feel you need to see happening in your life, business or career. I am a sailor, so I like to compare it to when your boat gets knocked down by a strong gust. You're wet, there's water everywhere. What you got to do then is let go of the lines, give the boat a chance to right itself, and then gently first then stronger pull those lines back in and see how the winds starts hugging the sail and bringing the boat back to life, picking up speed. If I were a better golfer I could probably describe it to you a similar way using Tiger Woods' story who got knocked down several times but always had coaches and got back in the game after each knockdown. That's what it is about: Let go for a moment, re-set, re-define your course and pick up new momentum. I think you got it. INSTA Coach
is a unique approach for clients who for many reasons do not want to commit in a long term coaching relationship but at the same time need fast results. Most conventional coaching concepts are based on the idea that a coaching relationship should be built for at least three, often six and still frequently 12 months to be effective. This is totally justified if the coaching’s goal is to transform a person or organization durably, to identify and change detrimental behavioral patterns. In our client work we have however often also come across cases where the client is not ready for such a long term committed relationship that requires both time and loger term financial resources. Especially time is often the critical factor when a client needs to make far reaching decisions and would like to review those with an external professional partner.
That’s where we designed INSTA Coach. INSTA- Coaching is a single intervention coaching session to address situations where the client needs to work through one specific problem that needs to be solved. Another client may use INSTA coaching to find clarity in a specific situation by working through it with a trained coach. Yet another client may seek just a single boost hearing another or an outside perspective on a specific situation (e.g. career decisions) while otherwise they are perfectly capable of performing their job.
EMPOWR Coaching
EMPOWR Coaching uses the coaching methodologies as taught by Thomas Leonard “Environments” and David Bach “Coach to Win’. The approach is a multi session, minimum 3 months collaborative coaching commitment. Over the course of those session we create clarity, design the path to the desired state and follow the first steps into the new found direction. The methodology involves:
Defining the Game
Elaborating what winning looks like, so we know when we get there and if it’s working.
Scanning the environments. Identify the supports and detriments.
Defining the gaps – What does it need to get to where we want to go.
Learning and Training to close the gaps
Playing the game
Check vs Goal: Celebrating wins and Continuous Improvement (looping)
